The simplest solutions are often the best; and when it comes to the measurement of Nucleic Acid and Protein concentration in micro-volume samples, AstraGene’s fundamental principle is as good as it gets.

AstraGene works the way you do, with no new skills required or special techniques to learn. Simply pick-up a 2µl sample with the pipette and measure – right there in the tip, no drops to dispense, no arms to close, no caps to replace not even a sample chamber to open. Using the latest fibre-optic technology the light source and detector are effectively brought right up to your pipette tip, so fewer steps are required to execute each reading; speeding work and reducing the risk of error. No other analysis method is quicker or easier.

Your few precious drops of sample are fully protected by the sterile pipette tip, eliminating contamination and evaporation and so enabling them to be re-used for further processing or other analysis – a true loss-less measurement. As the sample never leaves the pipette tip the risk of cross-contamination from a poorly cleaned pedestal or cuvette is completely removed. For high-throughput laboratories AstraGene can be integrated with many liquid handling systems and robots, so measurement can become part of the sample processing routine, saving double-handling as well as the need to ‘sacrifice’ some of your sample or to risk other sources of loss and contamination.
